Pace is just distance and time rearranged into a more useful shape for runners: how long each kilometre or mile actually takes. This calculator turns a finish time and distance into a pace and speed you can compare across different races and training runs.
Use this while planning race strategy — figuring out what pace a goal finish time actually requires, or converting a training pace between kilometres and miles when following a plan written in the other unit. It's also useful after a race to see your average pace and speed in a couple of different formats at once.
Pace per kilometre or mile is your total time divided by the distance covered. Speed is the inverse of that: distance divided by time, usually expressed in km/h or mph. Entering a distance and finish time gives you both figures at once, useful for comparing effort across different race distances.
