Healthy Weight Range

What it is

Rather than a single target number, this calculator gives a full range of weights that fall within the standard healthy BMI band for a given height, which is often a more realistic way to think about a healthy weight than chasing one exact figure.

Minimum
--
Maximum
--

Based on a healthy BMI range of 18.5–24.9.

When to use this

Use this instead of chasing one exact number, especially if you find a single ideal weight figure demotivating or overly rigid. It's a good starting point early in a weight loss or gain journey, before you've narrowed in on a more specific personal goal based on how you look, feel, and perform.

How it's calculated

This calculator rearranges the BMI formula to solve for weight instead of BMI: minimum healthy weight is 18.5 x height(m)^2, maximum is 24.9 x height(m)^2. That gives the full span of weights that would place you in the standard healthy BMI band at your height.
